Mini Canal Cruise

A two-day cruise on the Göta Canal in Sweden

The Mini Canal Cruise is our shortest boat trip on the Göta Canal, making it the perfect cruise for a short getaway in the famous Swedish nature. For two whole days you will enjoy an unforgettable experience aboard the historical M/S Wilhelm Tham as you travel through the beautiful eastern section of the canal. This cruise travels between Motala by Lake Vättern to the idyllic town of Söderköping. And as with all our cruises, the choice of direction is entirely up to you: whether from Motala to Söderköping or the other way around. Full board with breakfast, lunch and dinner is of course included and will be served on board.

This trip is ideal for you if you’re looking for a relaxing and peaceful mini break, an in-depth introduction to the splendor of the Swedish nature, or for the cherry on top of your holiday in Sweden. Take the beautiful scenery in as you travel at a tranquil speed aboard the historical M/S Wilhelm Tham, built in 1912 and a true classic of the Göta Canal. In addition to the many unforgettable sights along the way, your cruise is also an exciting chance to meet people from all over the world.
We’re of course also happy to help you book a return trip by bus.

Overnight stay at the locks of Berg

One of the great attractions of the Göta Canal are the many historical locks and lock systems. During this cruise we go through a number of them. Best-known here are the hand-operated lock at Borensberg and the lock staircase at Borentshult with a total of five locks. We even spend the spend night at the longest and most famous of them all: the lock system of Berg with its 15 locks, including the Carl Johan lock system at Lake Roxen, the longest lock staircase of the entire Göta Canal.

M/S Wilhelm Tham

M/S Wilhelm Tham was built at Motala Werkstad and was launched in 1912. She was listed in 2004 by the National Maritime Museums, considering her historically important. This distinction naturally makes us quite proud as it proves our efforts to preserve the ship have succeeded.
